Raison d'ĂȘtre

About 4 months ago my parents donated $100.42 to a local charity to sponsor me in a readathon. In doing so, my mother was given the privilege of naming one of the books I was to read. She chose Ayn Rand's interminable classic of Objectivist dogma, (or I should say, ONE of her interminable classics of Objectivist dogma), The Fountainhead.

Since then, I have read the first 5 pages.

The first 5 pages were enough to keep me filled with rage for the past 16 weeks or so. And I haven't even gotten to the part with the rape yet! GOODY!

So I'm starting over. And this blog shall be my safety valve.

If all goes well, I will continue with other fine works of art and philosophy that make me want to gnaw my own limbs off rather than continue reading.

Next time: "Howard Roark: 8-bit Ron Weasley or Carrot Top on Cocaine?"
